Buy a Tea Towel
Sa Boothroyd’s iconic "10 reasons to visit the Gibsons Public Library" tea towel is back!
But only for a limited time, while supplies last. And it’s still available at the amazingly reasonable price of $20.
Pick up one, two or ten at the Gibsons & District Public Library’s circulation desk. Or contact the Library Foundation at Sales@GibsonsLibraryFoundation.ca to place an order and arrange for a call to confirm your order and delivery/pickup details.
Our delivery area is Langdale to Roberts Creek but since we’re a bunch of softies we’ll go as far as Sechelt.
Payment options are:
- eTransfer: Send your payment to Sales@GibsonsLibraryFoundation.ca.
- Credit Card: Provide your card number by phone or in-person. Please do not email credit card information.
- Debit Card: Provide your debit card in-person only.
- Cash or cheque: Cash accepted in person. Cheques accepted by mail.
All proceeds go towards the Foundation’s ongoing support of the Gibsons & District Public Library.
The difference between the Gibsons library and every other building or service centre I've known that's provided by government is that I can just walk in, and I don't have to ask, and I don't have to tell, and nobody there is going to bug me or require me to give a reason for being there.
I don't even have to be a member of the library, and I don't have to borrow anything. I can just go in and sit anywhere and read or not read, or just rest. I can look at and scan through any book or any magazine without asking. I can poke around all the shelves.
I can just walk in there if it's cold or raining, and I can wait for someone and the staff know it and it's okay with them. In there, it feels like you're allowed, and everyone else in there is enjoying the same sense of being allowed.
