Our Team
The Library Foundation relies entirely on volunteers, sponsors and donors, working toward the advancement of Library services. Administration expenses are kept to a minimum.
To comply with the Foundation Society's bylaws, at any given time our Board of Trustees needs to have between 3 and 8 elected trustees and an appointed representative of the Gibsons & District Public Library Board. (Learn more about governance.) Our trustees have each made commitments of several years. Having more trustees allows us to achieve more as a Foundation.
Over the years, our trustees have told us that participating in this manner has been a rewarding and enjoyable experience. It's a great way to meet other like-minded people and support your community. If you're interested in learning more about what is involved in being a trustee, please reach out to us.

Joyce Bradbury
Joyce Bradbury is the Gibsons & District Public Library representative to the Library Foundation board as of March 2023. She spent her childhood summers on the coast and now lives in Roberts Creek. In addition to her volunteer work with the Library Foundation, she is a passionate member of both the Gibsons & District Public Library and the Roberts Creek Community Library and believes that libraries enrich the communities they serve. Joyce had also worked for many years in the media.

Impressed by the vibrant and welcoming community here, he joined the neighbourhood book club and began volunteering with the Gibsons Marine Rescue Society. With a background in Information Technology, Design, and Document Management, Tom is committed to fully supporting the Library Foundation team in its mission.
Elaine Jackson

Catherine Jones
Catherine has worked as an accountant in public practice for over 20 years, focused on small business, taxation, and Trusts and Estates. Catherine and her daughter moved to Gibsons in 2014. They are both voracious readers, using the services of the Library on a regular basis. Catherine feels fortunate to be able to use her personal and professional talents to support the Library Foundation.
Mieke Kang
Mieke and her husband moved to Roberts Creek in 2007. One of the first things they both did was to get their library memberships. Books, and by extension libraries, have always been an integral part of her life. Mieke feels that volunteering in any capacity is important. She says volunteering for our library is a joy.
Keith Reynolds
Keith's first home on the Sunshine Coast, over 20 years ago, was on South Fletcher Road, and he and his wife made full use of the easy access this provided to the library! Keith eventually served on the Library Board and has recently joined the Library Foundation Board. He brings his experience and education in business management and planning to the Foundation team’s work to support the library.
Gwen Willox
Gwen retired full time to Gibsons in 2015 after various careers as a hotelier, a contractor, and most lately working for the Ministry of Social Development in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver. She has been an active member of the Board of 411 Seniors Centre in Vancouver for 7 years. In Gibsons, she is a volunteer for Elderdog and VCH Seniors Peer Advisor program.
